It is both a celebration of nature’s beauty and an important part of Iran’s culinary and cultural heritage. This festival highlights the connection between humans and nature, showcasing the beauty of Iran’s rose fields and the skill of its artisans. The celebration begins early in the morning when the Damask roses are harvested at dawn to preserve their fragrance. Families and workers gather in the fields, carefully picking roses by hand. The harvested roses are taken to traditional distilleries where they are placed in large copper pots filled with water.

The pots are heated, and the steam passes through a cooling system, condensing into rosewater. This process is often done communally, with artisans explaining the steps to visitors.

During this festival some specific towns like Kashan and Qamsar come alive with music, dancing, and cultural exhibitions. The festival also includes displays of local crafts, from pottery to textiles, alongside rose-themed artworks.
